Lion G.S. Hora, Past International Director hails from District 322-F. He is a Chartered
Accountant by profession and has contribution in diverse fields. He had been elected
as International Director at Honolulu Convention in 2015. As International Director he
was assigned as Vice-Chairperson of Finance and Headquarter operations, Member
of Long Range Planning Committee and LCI Forward Committee at Lions Clubs
International. He has served as Chairperson of Lions Coordination Committee of
India, ISAME Area Leadership Committee and All India DG elect Schooling, 2017.
Presently he is Constitutional Area Leader LCIF Campaign for Area VI ISAME Trustee
Lions Quest in India Foundation and Treasurer Lions Council of India.
Joined Lionism as Leo in 1981 and became Lion member in 1985 as a member of
Lions Club of Siliguri Greater.
Born in Siliguri on 12th July, 1959 had his schooling at Siliguri with bright academic
results. In school he joined SCOUT movement and was awarded President Scout
Certificate by V.V. Giri the then President of India. He won the National Scholarship in
graduation and was awarded a Gold Medal in Law. He was Hony. Lecturer in Law
Department, University of North Bengal for 18 years and associated with Real Estate
business.
He was District Governor in 2001-02 and served in Lionism at various positions
including Multiple Council Treasurer 2001-02, Multiple P.R.O. for two terms, Sector
Coordinator – Campaign SightFirst II for 3 years. Multiple Coordinator Sight First and
LCIF Chairperson for 7 years. He also served as Area Leader, LCIF for MD 322,
Eastern India and MD 315 Bangladesh for 2 years and CA Leader Campaign 100 for 2
years. Apart from LCIF he has keen interest in leadership programs and has served
as faculty at All India DG – VDG School, Regional Lions, Emerging Lions, Senior
Lions and Faculty Training Institutes. He is trained as faculty at First Faculty Training
Institute by LCI at Adisababa and is LCIP certified Trainer. He has served as group
leader for LCI DG - Elect Seminar, 2021. He is Founder Trustee cum Treasurer of
Eastern India Lions Leadership Academy and Lions MD 322 Service Trust. He is a
major donor to Campaign Sight First-2, Campaign 100 and is Second Century
Ambassador. He has been recognized in Lionism with many awards including
Ambassador of Goodwill, highest award in Lionism and 15 International President
Medals.
He has participated in variously assemblies of Lions Including 14 Area Forums and 15
International conventions.
He is President of Siliguri Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee since 2002, Lion Hora,
was Chairman of Confederation of Indian Industry of North Bengal during 2008-10.
He is Managing Committee Member of Siliguri ITI and had been Chairman of the
Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Siliguri Branch, and Vice President of
Siliguri Taxation Bar Association.
He has led Siliguri Greater Lions Eye Hospital, a pride of Lions Project, as
Chairperson for 5 years.
His wife Ruby a Melvin Jones Fellow is actively engaged in Lionism. She is the Past
President of Lions Club of Siliguri Greater Femina and also served on the District
Cabinet. His son, Sarabjit a C.A., a progressive Melvin Jones Fellow, is Cabinet
member of District 322F and his two daughters and Son-in-Laws are medical
professionals
