PID Lion VK Luthra commonly known as ‘VK’ became Lion in the year 1970.
After becoming the President of the club in 1975, adopted a village “Didarganj”
in the out skirts of Patna and provided the villagers with the drinking water and
a road connecting with the High way.
He become the District Governor in the 1994-95 of 322E comprising the state
of Bihar. To him goes the credit sponsoring World’s first Lions Couple Club and
Eastern India’s “FAMINA CLUB” in Patna. During his tenure as Multiple
Council Chairperson in 1995-96, added 2500+ members and MD 322 for the
first time crossed the jinxed figure of 13000.
He was elected to serve a two-year term as a Director of Lions Clubs
International at the Association’s 100th International Convention held in
Chicago, Illinois, USA, June 30 through July 4, 2019. He is the only Centurion
International Director from ISAME who has served the organisation during the
Centennial Year and also 101st Year. During his second year of Directorship,
he become the Chairperson of LCOI (Lions Coordination Committee of India
Association).
To him goes the credit of organising maximum number of Diabetic detection
camps with more than 18 Lakhs beneficiaries. He was able to convince the
leadership to allow Multiple Council Chairpersons also to become the
members of LCOI Board.
To him also goes the credit of equally distributing of LCI PR Grant of US $
1,50,000, amongst the 11 Multiples of India. He is recipients of numerous
Awards including Key of Nations, Seven Presidential Medals, Three
International Leadership Medals and 18 Extension Awards. He is also
recipients of Ambassadors of Goodwill Award, which is the highest recognition
for an individual by Lions Clubs International. He is the only lead donner for
Campaign 100 from District 322 E.
He is one amongst the few Lions from Multiple 322 who has attended 18
International Convention and 13 Area Forums.
Activities
He was actively associated with the Indian Red Cross Society and served in
the National Governing body from the year 1999 – 2002 and 2007 – 2010. He
was a regular Blood donor and has Donated Blood 95 times.
His company ‘Brite Neon Signs Pvt Ltd’ deals with OOH publicity solutions.
The company has its offices at Patna, Ranchi, Delhi, Amritsar & Jammu.
Apart from above the Company has diversified into Real Estate and
Automobile Business having Skoda Vehicles Showrooms in Noida,
Ghaziabad and Patna.
He is blessed with two sons, a daughter and four grandchildren
