Ln. Raju Chandrashekar, Progressive Melvin Jones fellow was elected the Second Vice District Governor of Lions International, District 317 F.
Raju Chandrashekar, is a member of the 45 -year - old prestigious Lions Club of Bangalore Kumarapark. A lion of more than 40 years’ standing, he has held many offices, upto District Cabinet Secretary and has served the 3 Districts of 324 D1, 324 D6, 317 F.
He is associated with many pan India organizations like Red Cross, ISBTI, FOBDOI, He has served as a member of Karnataka State Blood Transfusion Council, Karnataka State Aids Prevention Society and is at present the Member Secretary, District Disabled Rehabilitation Centre, Bangalore Urban District, Govt of Karnataka. Recently he has been Nominated as Advisor to University of Agriculture Sciences (GKVK) for Youth Red Cross and nominated as member of Bangalore City University NSS Advisory Board.A trained National Disaster Response Team Member, he has been the Chairman Blood Bank of Indian Red Cross Society. He has to his credit two International Leadership Awards, New Horizon Award, more than 10 International President's Certificate of Appreciations. Adjudged as the Best District Cabinet Secretary at District and Multiple Level and was declared as the Lion of the Year Award. He has been the recipient of Kempegowda Award from BBMP and was conferred with the prestigious State Rajyothsava Award for his outstanding services in the field of Social Service from Govt of Karnataka. Happily married to Ln. Dr. R Indira who is a practising doctor who has served as the President of LCB Kumarapark. Ln. Raju Chandrashekar had the privilege of working closely with Nobel Laureate Mother Terasa in a care and support program for the under privileged and destitutes. He has donated blood 103 times.
The couple are blessed with a daughter Mrs. Deepti, son Mr.R.Arun, grand son master Darsh Pruthvi.
