G.S. HORA
PAST INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR
G.S. Hora, from Siliguri, India, was elected to serve a two-year term as a director of Lions Clubs
International at the association’s 98th International Convention held in Honolulu, Hawaii, June 26
through 30, 2015.
Past International Director Hora is a practicing chartered accountant.
A member of the Siliguri Greater Lions Club since 1985, he has held many offices within the
association, including district governor, district convention chairperson, LCIF multiple district
coordinator, LCIF Constitutional Area Leader, district centennial coordinator and foundation
director for the Eastern India Lions Leadership Academy.
In recognition of his service to the association, Director Hora has received numerous awards,
including the Senior Builder Key Award, three Extension Awards, two Leadership Awards and six
International President’s Awards. He is also a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow. Past International
Director G.S. Hora was appointed to a three-year term as trustee for Lions Clubs International
Foundation (LCIF) in 2024-2025.
In addition to his Lions activities, Past International Director Hora is active in numerous
professional and community organizations, including the India Red Cross Society, St. John’s
Ambulance Association and the Gyan Jyoti College.
Past International Director Hora and his wife, Ravinder Kaur, also a Lion and a Melvin Jones Fellow,
have two daughters and one son.
